You've probably always had daydreams of your marriage proposal; a magical place and time worth asking your lover to be yours forever. Usually, whatever happens in your imagination, it always ends perfectly.
However, it's not new that reality comes punching one in the face. If you're thinking of popping the question, make sure you're not doing any of these awkward things listed below:
- Looking For The Most Public Place To Propose
Asking your partner to say yes at the prying eyes of people at the mall, for instance, is usually a bad idea. Not only will you be creating an unnecessary scene, but you'd probably also be embarrassing your partner. Avoid extremely public places at all cost.
- Playing a Trick
Countless videos have been online about boyfriends faking their arrests, getting almost mobbed by soldiers as a way of proposing to their girlfriends. You're only going to heighten her tension by doing this. You'll most likely be getting a ''No'' for rousing her up as well. Rather than playing this trick, choose a safer way.
- Losing Your Proposal Ring
Your worst nightmare is about to happen in front of you if you lose your ring. Especially if you have gathered a few crowds to witness your proposal. Even if your partner doesn't mind, you may feel a bit humiliated. Make sure you keep your ring in a safe place and try not to forget where you kept it.
- When You're Both Drunk
Please don't try this. While a lot of movies have shaky plots like this, there's a reason why it stayed a movie. Let's face reality; you're most likely to forget that you ever proposed the next day.
- Asking Randomly
You're both at home. She's probably taking a shower. She's struggling to hear you speak with all the water noise. You decide to ask ''will you marry me?'' at the top of your lungs.
If that doesn't look like a ridiculous time to ask, then you should be prepared for whatever comes next.
- Hiding Your Ring in Food/Drinks
Trying to impress your love with this kind of surprise may end up very hazardous. Your girlfriend will probably end up in disbelief that you wanted to choke her to death.
- Proposing on Social Media
Asking your partner to marry you on social media will likely result in everyone but your girlfriend seeing it.
