Once a couple decides to organize a destination wedding, it is evident that they do not want excess guests at their event, or better still they already have a calculated number of guests.

A destination wedding is one that is organized at a far location. It involves distance, time and space and for these reasons, there are some things that a guest should not do when attending a destination wedding.

In this piece, we will be looking at 7 of those things.

1. Don’t invite an extra person to a destination wedding

To start with, do not bring an extra person to the wedding if it is not a plus one. This shows the couple's wish for your presence only and no one else.

2. Do not post pictures of the wedding on social media without the couple's permission

Sometimes, the couple may decide to make the wedding a secret that's why they opted for a destination wedding.

Going by this, it will be inappropriate to post pictures of the wedding on social media, which may alter the purpose the wedding was made.

3. Don’t bring your kids if not allowed

Guests that have kids should not feel it is right to come along with them. The non-inclusion of kids may be to avoid trouble which naughty kids tend to create or the noise crying babies make. It is therefore advisable to keep the kids with a nanny till when you get back from the ceremony.

4. Never go with a small amount of money

Ensure you are with sufficient money. It is even advisable you have more than enough. This will enable you to handle unforeseen occurrence when it arises.

Also, one may have some wants to fulfil in the course of the event and you wouldn't want to be broke or stranded.

5. Ensure you keep to the wedding commitment

Fulfilling Your commitment to attending a destination wedding is very important.

This is because most destination weddings already have a particular number of guests they are expecting. Hence, the honourable thing you should do is to ensure you honour their invitation.

However, if there is any reason why you won’t be in attendance, you should ensure you inform the couple about it. This will enable them to make any adjustment if necessary.

6. Don’t leave before the photo session

Pictures bring about memories and attending a destination wedding is one of the ways you can also create a beautiful memory for yourself.

Therefore, you should ensure you partake in the photo session before leaving. It is one of the ways of honouring your guests.

7. Avoid drinking excessively

You should never drink excessively. Ensure you drink with caution. This will prevent you from getting drunk and embarrassing yourself.

You should try as much as possible to keep away from alcoholic drinks especially when you know you are likely to drive yourself back home.

Conclusively, destination weddings are fun and interesting. If you have attended one, kindly share your experience below.
