Dear Sugar
I’m really worried for my sister. She’s been married five years. I recently just found out and with proof that her husband is having an affair. They have two children, which is one of the reasons I don’t want to interfere. What should I do?

Dear Mosunmola,
So you have some information that could potentially destroy your sister’s marriage. While you don’t want to be the one to deliver such awful news, put yourself in her position. However, you can’t run from it, you need to decide whether or not you’re going to tell her. You don’t have to make the decision to make pronto, evaluate each scenario carefully before you make a move or not.
Here’s the deal though, nobody knows what happens behind closed doors. Your sister may already know that her husband steps but overlooks. People do a whole lot to keep home front steady. So by telling her, you may be bringing up a part of her marriage she doesn’t want to address or on the other hand, confirming suspicions.
At the end of the day, you have to do what you believe is the right thing to do. If she finds out that you withheld this information from her, she’ll not only feel betrayed by him but by you too.
I have been through this before and I did what I thought was the right thing. You decide.
Good luck.
