Ibrahim Samande is no stranger to the music scene. Born to an Architect mother and Pastor father, he started playing the piano and writing songs from the age of 10. By 12 he was playing the drums in his dad’s church, singing, playing the guitar at concerts and directing his High school choir. By 17, he recorded his first demo with Panam Percy Paul in Jos, Plateau state.
Ibrahim continued to nurture his passion for music in the US and was awarded a four-month residency at an elite artist colony on Martha’s Vineyard Island, at The Contemporary Music Center in the first quarter of 2002. There he wrote and produced an EP for which he coined the phrase Alternative Soul; a mid-tempo blend of soul, pop and alternative rock.
Ibrahim has also been nomiated for the Rookie of the Year at the 2013 Headies (Nigeria's biggest and most prestigious music awards)
