Wedding Dress Inspiration for The Modern Bride: From LBFW Day 3

@eseazenabor

Even veterans like Toju Foyeh and Yemi Kosibah served deliciously modern looks along with faithful classics. See our favourite looks:

 Magnetic Elegance (ME)

 The show kicked off with this brand. If you're a fan of the minimalist look, just go home. This one is lavish, for the glamazons: with look-at-me reflective beading, feathers, tassels and so on, yet it all tied in so well together. We see you ME.

2018 brides, you all are so lucky; bridal fashion is bursting at the seams with inspiration for wedding dresses, reception dresses, veils and headpieces, and even wedding pants and jumpsuits for the non-comformist bride. You'll know if you have seen the best looks from Day 1 and Day 2 of Lagos Bridal Fashion Week. We love how fresh and new a lot of Nigerian and African designers are thinking. Day 3 had some especially modern looks for the bride and groom who are up-to-date with fashion- Ese Azenabor for the brides and Taryor Gabriels for the men.

Valerie Davids

This collection was so unique. The designs looked like they would work just as well as traditional bridal attire and as reception dresses. We love the use of black too. We don't see enough black in bridal dresses.

Taryor Gabriels

This one is for the fashion-forward modern groom who wants to stand out clearly from the crowd on his wedding day. Atta boys!

Toju Foyeh

Toju Foyeh is practically a household name in Nigerian bridal fashion. So what does a veteran in this game bring to LBFW? A focus on one thing many designers overlooked: headpieces. We STAN for these ones. The drama! A simple veil or tiara will never be enough again. We've been convertedtt!

Hudayya

Hudayya has been making wedding dresses for some time, but seemed to have carved a niche with more conservative type brides. This collection smashed that box. There was glamour and sophistication that would sit well on brides of any style; and still cater to muslimah brides- like that shimmery gold number.

Ese Azenabor

US-based Ese Azenabor who has made waves internationally and  recently tied the knot herself, came out with a cutting-edge collection. The thigh-high slit and side ruffles, a similar jumpsuit, regal capes and so on. The gossamer dress at the top of this article came from this collection as well and was our favourite of the night.

Kosibah

You can tell that Yemi Kosibah is a deft, experienced hand. This sheer dress is so tastefully done, it is sexy without being inappropriate or revealing. The movement of the fabric as the model walked was stunning.

What are your favourite looks from all 3 days of LBFW? Did you find your dream dress?
