Picking out date is one of the first things to take off your list when planning a wedding. Best be careful, however, not to pick a date you may end up regretting.
Here are some wedding dates you need to avoid in 2019 and for a very long time.
- Holiday Periods
Planning a wedding during Holiday peak periods can really be a bummer. Prices are usually higher and sometimes, most hotels are already booked. Try not to have your wedding planned around periods building to festivities or the festival days themselves. Periods like Christmas and New Year weekends, Salah and Ramadan days should be off your date list.
- Personally Important Days
Say you’re the chairman of your reunion party, or there’s a reunion party happening soon. Your friends will end up trying to shuffle between the reunion and your wedding. Unless you’re announcing your wedding date during these significant days, try not to get yourself unnecessary headaches.
- National Days
Usually, National Days are on lockdown. Some of these include Independence Day, Democracy day and so on. Sometimes, there may be a national request to stop movements from a specific time. You really do not want to get caught in this melodrama. Even though it may be tempting (roads are freer), you would be better off avoiding the risk of an uncertain activity.
- Election Periods
If your proposal falls during the era of elections, make sure to have your wedding earlier on or after all forms of election is settled. Not only do you stand security risk, but half your guests also may not turn up because they are voting elsewhere or cannot get transportation to come to you.
- On a Monday and Friday
Any other neutral day apart from these days. Mondays are a rush as everyone is getting ready for work. Fridays are terrible because everyone is rushing to go party. Unless you have a strict afternoon time, it’s better to avoid it.
