There were no fluffy clouds of honey in the sky, the oceans didn’t flow with milk, and for those reasons, you would be forgiven for thinking that February 27th 2015 was just another day, but lets be clear on one thing – it was not.
On that morning, at Bishop Adekunle Howels Memorial Church, Surulere, Lagos, love was celebrated in the only way it can ever truly be; the courageous, beautiful act of marriage.
After a chance meeting while they were students of Lagos State University, LASU the duo of Temitayo Oluwapelumi Ojo and Oluwagbemileke Oluwagbemiga Jaiyesimi did an amazing thing – they stayed in touch, and they held onto the emotions they had discovered for each other soon after meeting, even when life, careers and work took one party to Abuja and the other continued in Lagos, they honoured their commitment to each other.
Nine and a half years later, a stunningly beautiful woman in a gorgeous white gown and some of the most exquisite makeup ever, and a handsome gentleman who looks as though he stepped out of the pages of GQ’s ‘Man Of Year’ edition sit on an elevated dias, like the Queen and King that they are, respectively, and their audience looks on in admiration at this beautiful thing that love has created.
