Depression in marriage isn’t something to be taken lightly. Also, it’s important to note that both men and women are equally affected. While reactions to this can differ, one of the most necessary things to do is to address it as immediate as possible. Here are tips to help deal with post-marriage depression:

Planning a wedding can be so overwhelming that you feel almost empty when everything is done.
As much as the wedding ceremony is necessary, it is noteworthy to know that planning your married lives is more important. Focusing a lot more on your ceremony will leave you disappointed and aggravate your chances of getting depressed early on in your marriage.
Share the burden
To prevent the stress and burden that comes from the rush of planning a wedding, learn to delegate part of the planning to your family and loved ones.
Know when to hit the brakes, it is understandable that you have always had a dream wedding but you do not have to do it all yourself. Hire a planner, let them do the stressing for you.
Get a hobby
After marriage, you should each get a hobby pertaining to your personal interests. Also, consider getting a hobby that both of you would be interested in. That way, you’ll both have something to look forward to while spending time together for the rest of your lives.
Spend Organic Quality time
Social media, work and a lot more activities can get your mind wandering a lot. This is why quality time is very necessary. Take time to be off regular activities and do more organic ones with your partner.
This is also the right time to work out new family rules and cultures that will help you if you’re planning on having kids.
Talk to someone
If you have tried it all but still find yourself comfortable, acknowledge that there’s a problem. After this, seek out help by speaking to a counsellor/ psychologist so that they can help you through it. It gets worse when you try to solve it all by yourself.
