So you’re wondering, “Is it really necessary to have a bridal train? Do I really need all these people to be bridesmaids and groomsmen?” There are quite a lot of reasons why a couple would choose not to. Good news, it’s not compulsory! In all honesty, there have been situations where the bridesmaids or groomsmen were more a problem than a solution.
Also, you won’t have to pick out dresses for them, look for hotels for them or bear other costs because you asked them to be part of your wedding. Not to mention having to manage relationships when two or more of them aren’t getting along. Stress.
If you are thinking of getting married without bridesmaids or groomsmen, here are some easy alternatives:
Get Ushers
You would need a group of people to help you with running around. This is where ushers come in handy. Your ushers can help with escorting your guests to their tables, direct caterers to seats where there’s no food, amongst other things.
Get Family and Friends Involved
Family members can come in handy. They don’t need a title to help out at your wedding. You can get your siblings and relatives to help manage the crowd, give out souvenirs and keep your gifts safe. Also, who will help with picking the money sprayed on you and your spouse during the reception? Who else can fit the position but your family and friends?
Leave it to The Professionals
Especially if you’re having a small wedding, you don’t need a bridal party at all. Some of these little tasks are easily handled by you, your wedding planner and vendors to the extent that your family and friends may only need to get themselves and each other to the venue on time.
Get One Bridesmaid and/or Groomsman
Rather than having a bunch of them, you can get one or two individuals who will help with putting activities in order.
Even if you got many in your bridal party, there’ll only be a couple of them really helping out anyway, so just save yourself all the drama and work with the few people you can rely on.
