Destination weddings are becoming more popular, and although they always seem beautiful and dreamy, there are a lot of factors to consider before deciding to tie the knot outside your hometown.
Here are some factors to consider before planning a destination wedding:
Size of Wedding
Are you having a destination wedding to cut down the number of guests that are capable of attending? You must consider if you prefer an intimate wedding of fifty people or a larger wedding that includes family, friends and acquaintances.
Expenses for Guests
Not all your guests may be able to afford all the expenses involved in attending your destination wedding. You may consider paying a portion of costs to subsidise overall costs for your bridal party who would be dedicating more time and money to make your wedding the most memorable one.
Meaningful Location
What is your reason for choosing a particular destination for your wedding? It should be somewhere that both you and your significant other decide to get married at. It could be that a special moment was shared or a relationship milestone was attained there.
Budget for Vendors
The prices of services vary according to location. Conduct some research into the costs of attaining the necessary wedding services you need at your chosen location. You may also be able to afford a more lavish wedding in your hometown because of the ability to bargain good deals in a familiar economic environment.
Honeymoon Plans
Consider whether having a destination wedding may curtail your plans to go on a nice honeymoon. Alternatively, consider whether your chosen location may be somewhere you wouldn’t mind staying a few extra days at so you can enjoy your honeymoon immediately after your nuptials.
Planning Time
A destination wedding must not be planned in a hurry. If you choose to get married abroad, you must start planning and saving months beforehand, especially because other people may have to take time off work to be with you on your special day.
You are still trying to have a wedding abroad when you can ball and show stop in your hometown? Think about it!
