The Best Times of the Year to Get Married

Ever wondered why people choose certain times of the year to get married? It’s obvious. Seasons are a constant in the world and not every season is favourable for a marriage ceremony. This is why it is crucial to take this into account when choosing the date of your wedding. Certain times of the year just hold an appeal that will brighten up your day and stamp that element of happiness and fulfilment on the occasion.

The temperate quality of the Nigerian weather does not make it any easier to pick a particular day that the elements won’t make a joke of. However, with careful planning, one can pick a day that will spew out the best weather.

Below are some of the most quaintly beautiful times of the year in Nigeria to align your wedding date with.

November

In terms of weather, this is a great time. It’s that time when the heat lets up and the environment breathes with ease again. Whether you’re considering an indoor or outdoor event, you have little to nothing to lose here. The only downside here is the possible hike in prices.

January

January offers great weather to get married in. It’s that month where the harmattan is receding and the heat is yet to come- the perfect mix because it precedes one of the hottest months- February. And the bonus is that this is the month where the prices of things not only go back to normal but even less than normal.

July & August

These are great months to consider, being that they are tucked nicely at the beginning of the second half of the year. They are reportedly some of the coldest months of the year and with light rainfall- not the dampening one- that brightens up the environment.

December

If you’re not scared of the shocking hike in prices and the risk of having your ceremony compete with the festive mood of this period, this is a great month to be married in. It offers some of the best weather with scarce rainfall and moderate sunshine.

Having good weather will help to dumb things down (in case of any issues) and help people maintain a pleasant mood.
