It is easy to get carried away with everything with all bridal needs, hair, make-up, lashes, dress, skin care, the list goes on and on. So, what happens when she walks down the aisle to meet her dream man? Surely, he must look fantastic as well, afterall it is HIS wedding too. For the groom who has no clue where to start or, the bride who desperately wants to help her style-challenged future husband, fret not Sugar has you covered.
Rule 1:
A fitting haircut gives you a crisp look, depending on how fast your main grows, schedule a haircut about a week to your wedding.
Rule 2:
Harmony is your friend. Keep everything in harmony with complimentary colours. Cravats, ties, pocket-squares, etc to exude polish. Feel free to get in touch with your fashion forward side with a bright pop of colour with your tie, pocket square or even socks. Don’t go overboard with the bright colours though - it’s easier than you think to resemble a box of crayons.
Rule 3:
Quality all the way! Splurge on quality cuff-links, preferable precious metals if you can afford them. That way they can become a family heirloom passed down from father to son. Diamond accents, though they are pricey, also add that extra va -va -voom to your whole ensemble.
Rule 4:
PLEASE resist the urge to wear flashy/big belt buckle heads. If you must, save that for your honeymoon. Remember we’re going for the ‘class over flash’ look.
Rule 5:
Loafers and casual shoes are a big NO! Invest in a pair of formal oxfords or wingtips. Black is always a safe choice, but feel free to explore other options.
Rule 6:
Every groom becomes a clock watcher on his wedding day. No sporty and chunky wristwatches they are not compatible with the occasion.
Rule 7:
If you follow only one rule, let it be this one. Absolutely no Satin shirts. Need I say more?
