Getting engaged to your significant other does not mean that's the end to your fights. One of the reasons for your arguments can be related to your engagement. Issues like planning your engagement party, budgeting for the wedding amongst other things may be a critical issue. If you're currently having disputes surrounding your engagement, here are some ways to help tackle it:
Always Get Them Involved
When it comes to planning after your engagement, forgetting to let them in on your plans is not an option. If you intend to make certain changes to an already agreed idea, let them know on time.
Reduce External Influence
A couple of fights will arise from external influences like your family. If you ask for too much advice from your father or mother, for instance, you're most likely going to get in trouble with your spouse-to-be. Rather, make sure both of you make decisions a lot more than you will with external parties. When you're having personal disputes reporting them to their siblings or any family member is a bad idea. Consider that you will be spending both your lives together. So, you want to create an atmosphere where both of you can settle your disagreements amicably.
Plan Together
One of the easiest ways to avoid conflicts is if you plan together. Make sure you communicate your plans clearly to your fiance. While planning, find ways to settle disputes between yourselves without involving any external parties
Always Apologise
Apologizing to your future significant other makes a lot of difference. It will easily clear off disputes and faster. So, rather than go on about with unnecessary arguments, try to state out your points and apologize when it starts to go out of hand.
Get A Planner
If you feel you and your partner cannot agree with planning for your engagement party and wedding, work with a planner. They can easily get ideas from both of you and apply them to your event giving it a fine blend. Your planner can also act as the objective element, settling differences in ideas or concepts both of you may have.
Discuss Issues
Sometimes, to settle a dispute, you need to be extra sure that it's over. Rather than going back to an issue that was ''assumed'' to be sorted, make sure you discuss them as much as possible and agree together that it has been settled.
Try a combination of these methods out in order to maintain status quo with your significant other!
