6 Ways To Avoid Pre-wedding Fights

When planning for a wedding, a lot of things happen as everyone is under the pressure to make that day perfect. With many going on at the same time around the couple, disagreements are bound to happen.

It is normal to have differing opinions when it comes to the wedding preparations but your approach to it is what matters most.

Here are 6 ways to avoid pre-wedding fights:

Communicate

Sit each other down and talk about everything. If the budget is the issue, discuss it and proffer solutions because, over the years, money has caused a lot of disagreements between couples.

After you converse, both of you have to come to an agreement on if not all, most of the things you have disagreed about in relation to the wedding preparation.

Blame No One

Try as much as possible to avoid blaming each other for whatever it is that goes wrong in the preparations. No one is perfect and your partner is not your enemy.

Respect the Family

Respect each other’s family no matter how they step on your nerves in the course of the preparation. Most times, family think that they are doing what is right for the couples and they tend not to respect boundaries, all you have to do is find an easy and polite way to let them know that you are not happy with some of their actions rather than outrightly disrespecting them.

Avoid Big Deals

Do not blow everything out of proportion. Calm down and think of why your partner would do what he or she did.

Do not let the pressure get to you. If you tried reaching your partner to have discussions about the wedding and he or she is not accessible at the moment, do not escalate the issue, be patient.

Comparison

There is nothing as demeaning as comparisons; do not compare your partner to another. It is also wrong when you compare your forthcoming wedding to a previous wedding both of you attended. This will only create unnecessary pressure and lead to more anger and verbal fights.

Relax

Take a break, the pressure is undeniably getting to you. Fix a date with your partner when you both need to get away from the wedding rush and remind each other why you want to spend the rest of your lives together.

We agree that wedding planning can be a bummer when everyone is making decisions on their own. However, choosing a subtle approach whenever a situation rises can save the day!
