Quite a lot of times, brides tend to be unaware of what to expect during their wedding fittings. The fittings would then become frustrating and stressful. Fittings are usually fun when you know the details of what you will be doing.
In this article, we will be showing you the things you need to do before you alter your wedding dress.
- Go with your shoes
You may have found the dress you like. Perhaps you're already making plans to getting it ready for your big day. The best way to know for sure is to wear your heels.
Most designers tend to make wedding dresses in patterns with the heels in mind. So, rather than getting all worked up about the length, go in with your heels and then work out the right measurements for your most desired length. Then, you can go back again to make sure that they have gotten the right length.
- Come along with your underwear
Having your underwear popping out on your big day can be uncomfortable and embarrassing.
To avoid any discrepancies on your wedding day, make sure you go with the underwear you would be wearing for that day. This way, if there are any ''peep-outs,'' it would be corrected immediately.
- Have a realistic goal weight
If you're trying to lose weight before your wedding, talk to yourself in the most honest way possible. Ideally, you should have put aside 6-8 weeks before your wedding for altercations. This would give you enough time to plan your weight loss program and go for your final fittings.
Try not to create an ideal weight loss goal that would eventually make you unhappy when you can't reach it. Do not advise your stylist to shrink your dress before you lose the weight either.
- Go with a friend
You should go with a friend who would be there to help oversee your fittings. There are cases where you may not notice any issue but your friend does. This is why going with your friend helps you see better.
Besides, your friend is there to ensure that you look like a goddess on your big day.
- Book your alterations in advance
Make sure that you book your fittings ahead of time. It will make room for adjustments if any, and you would not have to stress over your dress some days to your wedding.
